Letti in CAMERA presents “There’s no calm after the storm”

On Tuesday 4 March, at 6.30pm, Letti in CAMERA hosts photographer Matteo de Mayda, who will present his latest book There’s no calm after the storm (bruno, 2024), focusing on the long-term consequences of storm Vaia.
Social and environmental issues have always been at the centre of his visual research and in this volume he wants to turn the spotlight on the tragic effects of that extreme weather event that hit north-eastern Italy in October 2018. For the occasion, de Mayda will explain the origin of his project, which is characterised by a documentary approach, in dialogue with elements of scientific and archival research, with the aim of raising readers’ awareness of the fragile balance between human action and the maintenance of ecosystems.
