Dorothea Lange at Verona

From 30 July to 1 November 2026, the Scavi Scaligeri International Centre of Photography in Verona is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to Dorothea Lange (1895–1965), one of the most important figures in 20th-century documentary photography.

Organised by Verona City Council and produced by CAMERA, the exhibition brings together around 200 photographs that trace the key moments in the artist’s career, from the years of the Great Depression to the internment of US citizens of Japanese origin during the Second World War.

Curated by Walter Guadagnini and Monica Poggi, the exhibition highlights the enduring relevance of Lange’s perspective through themes such as migration, social inequality, discrimination and environmental crises.
