Aïda Muluneh. The art of advocacy: photography as a tool for change
Thursday at CAMERA | Special Tuesday | 15 November, 6.30pm
With Advocacy, we mean an attitude of support and promotion towards policies capable of modifying the social, economic or legislative structures of a given territory.
This is the word chosen by the photographer Aïda Muluneh, guest at CAMERA on Tuesday 15 November at 6.30 pm, to describe her work, considering art and photography as active tools for change.
Through brightly colored images, the Ethiopian-born artist living in Canada since 1985 fights the stereotypes through which Africa is usually portrayed, without renouncing to treat the typical themes of documentary photography, through a poetics with a strong social commitment.
With the participation of:
Aïda Muluneh, photographer
Walter Guadagnini, director of CAMERA
