Starting from her propensity to investigate the relationship between photography and truth, the photographer and artist Cristina De Middel will present an overview of the projects that made her famous internationally. Assuming  that  the description of reality provided by the mass media is reducing the real understanding of the world , De Middel makes a selection of subjects which respond to the urgency of completing the image of the reality in which we live. De Middel’s work has received numerous awards both in the publishing and artistic fields, including Photo Folio Arles 2012, Finalist of the Deutsche Börse Award and Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography in New York. Her work “Midnight at the Crossroads”, in collaboration with Bruno Morais, a series where she explores African spiritual roots and their heritage in American territories, was the subject of an exhibition presented at the Rencontres d’Arles Festival 2018.

Made as part of Futures Photography co-financed by the European Union Creative Europe Program.
