Gabriele Basilico: Urban Planning and Photography
Thursday at CAMERA | 28 May 2026, 6.30 pm
CAMERA is pleased to host an event exploring the deep connection between Gabriele Basilico’s visual work and urban culture – a pairing that has redefined the way we view the contemporary landscape.
On Thursday, May 28, at 6.30 pm, François Hébel and Giovanna Calvenzi will trace the career of the Milanese photographer, analyzing how his training as an architect influenced a style grounded in rigor, spatial proportion, and the ability to interpret the silent transformations of our cities. From his historical exploration of factory portraits to major international commissions, the event will delve into the work of an artist who did not merely document architecture but knew how to interrogate it, transforming each photograph into a tool for analyzing and understanding the living organism of the city.
The event is part of Urban Frame.
With the participation of
Giovanna Calvenzi, photo editor and curator
François Hébel, artistic director of CAMERA
The talk costs €3.00
