Gaia Squarci will be in conversation with documentary photographer Lucia Buricelli discussing the self-portrait series she created while in Covid lockdown in her studio apartment in Milan. What did it mean to turn the camera on herself and how did making pictures give her purpose and help her maintain her sense of humor during these difficult times?

Buricelli is a Venice born photographer.  She is an alum of the 2017 Turin Masterclass and the 2018 Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at ICP.  Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Time, New Yorker Photo, Refinery 29, Bloomberg, Internazionale, DRepubblica, BBC News.
