Talk

Inside history: photography, art and revolutions

Thursday at CAMERA | 5 december 2024, 6.30pm

What is the role of art in revolutions?
We will discover this on Thursday 5 December at 6.30pm together with Paola Agosti, an independent photographer who has worked in Europe, South America, the United States and Africa, photographing, in particular, faces and moments of the female world.
Like Tina Modotti, Agosti used photography to tell stories of struggle and resistance, documenting demonstrations for women’s rights, the peasant civilization of poorer Piedmont and their emigration to Argentina. During the meeting, in the company of Agosti and curator Giangavino Pazzola, we will explore how art and photography have been instruments of denunciation and protest between the 20th century and the 2000s, in an unprecedented dialogue between the images on display in the exhibition and the work of the Turin-based photographer.

With the participation of
Paola Agosti, photographer
Giangavino Pazzola, curator of CAMERA
