Letti in CAMERA presents “I cessi di Mirafiori”

Letti in CAMERA | Tuesday 17 February 2026, ore 6.30pm

On Tuesday, February 17, at 6:30 pm, Letti in CAMERA presents the editorial project I cessi di Mirafiori (The Toilets of Mirafiori), a working-class story written and drawn on the walls of the bathrooms of the large Fiat factory.

The volume collects photographs taken by Pietro Perotti – a worker at Fiat Mirafiori in Turin – who, since 1985, has written and drawn protest messages in the factory bathrooms to oppose the company’s oppressive policies. Perotti systematically photographed the drawings and writings, smuggling his camera in and synchronizing the shutter with the automated toilet flushes so that the clicking sound would not be heard.

A more widespread and personal form of protest, recounted on scattered sheets of paper and documented on photographic paper, which is now being reassembled for the first time in a volume edited by Franco Berteni and Davide Tidoni, published by Viaindustriae with Compulsive Archive.

With the participation of:
Pietro Perotti, author
Franco Berteni, editor of the book
Giulia Vallicelli, founder of Compulsive Archive
Giulia Ninotta, coordinator of the Letti in CAMERA
