The Voice of Colour. The Words and Forms of Colour in Photography
Thursday at CAMERA | Special Wednesday | 30 September 2026, ore 6.30pm
For Harry Gruyaert, colour is the fundamental principle of the image: emotion, the construction of space, light that becomes matter. It is from this perspective that the event organised by CAMERA, in collaboration with Tactile Vision Lab, takes shape, dedicated to the themes of cultural accessibility and reflection on visual languages.
On Wednesday 30 September at 6.30 pm, the discussion will take as its starting point the work of the Belgian photographer, in which colour becomes both subject and structure, to explore how its intensity might be conveyed to those who cannot perceive it visually. Drawing on contributions from different disciplines, the event explores tools and practices — from verbal codes to technological solutions — capable of translating the experience of colour for an audience of blind and visually impaired people.
The event thus offers a perspective on accessibility, understood not merely as compliance with regulations, but as a space for shared research and experimentation, in which photography enters into dialogue with educational sciences and the practices of inclusive design.
