Davide Tranchina. Lightyears Away

Project Room | 17 October 2026 – 6 January 2027

From 17 October 2026 to 6 January 2027, CAMERA’s Project Room will host Davide Tranchina. Lightyears Away is a solo exhibition dedicated to one of the most influential figures in contemporary Italian photography.

Organised in collaboration with the Galleria Studio G7 in Bologna and curated by Walter Guadagnini, the exhibition traces over twenty years of the Bolognese artist’s creative journey; born in 1970, he was also a recent highlight at the Rome Quadriennale.

Through a selection of works spanning some of the most significant moments of his career, the exhibition offers an ongoing reflection on the photographic image, its processes of construction and the relationship – which is never unambiguous – between photography and reality. Belonging to a generation that came of age during the transition from analogue to digital, Tranchina has, over time, developed a practice that challenges the boundaries between the experience of reality, perception and representation.

For CAMERA, the artist re-examines some of the central themes of his research in an exhibition that culminates in a previously unseen work, conceived and created specifically for the Project Room.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue published by Dario Cimorelli Editore.
