L’Italia di Magnum. Da Henri Cartier-Bresson a Paolo Pellegrin
3rd March – 21st May 2017
The new exhibition season of CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia opens on Thursday 3 March with L’Italia di Magnum. Da Henri Cartier-Bresson a Paolo Pellegrin, an extraordinary selection of more than two hundred images telling the chronicles, the history and the traditions of our country over the last seventy years. On show until 21 May, the exhibition aims to commemorate the seventieth anniversary of the founding of Magnum Photos, Camera’s institutional partner ever since its foundation.
Twenty artists have been called upon to recount events great and small, through Italian figures and localities from the post-war years right up to the present day, in a fascinating blend of famous and less familiar photographs, of places known throughout the world and of ordinary citizens who make up the social and visual fabric of our country.
Curated by the new director Walter Guadagnini with the collaboration of Arianna Visani
