REAL. Everyday Biographies
Immaginaria, Venaria Reale | 6 December 2025 – 6 January 2026
Details of parks, streets, and objects kept in institutional or private spaces reconstruct a picture of ordinary life that tells the story of Venaria Reale between the present and the past. This is the exhibition REALI. Biografie quotidiane (REALS. Everyday Biographies), which, as part of IMMAGINARIA 2025, brings together the photographic projects of Anna Adamo (Milan, 1991) and Alessio Pellicoro (Taranto, 1994), FUTURES talents selected by CAMERA in 2024 and 2025 respectively. Their works investigate the historical, social, and spatial dynamics that have affected – and continue to affect – urban and rural communities and spaces, while also documenting the presence of the artists themselves in action on site.
In Anna Adamo‘s project, ORME, Or Me (2025), exhibited at the Visitor Center in Venaria, the artist mixes materials from various personal and public photographic collections with images captured on film, composing, thanks to fragments scattered throughout the territory, a possible visual map that combines observation and imagination. The interest in old and new stories to listen to and portray clashes with the impossibility of photography to recount the totality of reality, but only to offer partial versions through the filter of the author and her journeys within places and communities.
In his research La materia che respira, l’aria che conserva (The Matter that Breathes, the Air that Preserves) (2025), Alessio Pellicoro elaborates on the physical and cultural landscape of Venaria, drawing inspiration from the Ceronda stream. This interesting natural system represents an element of authenticity in the area, as the flow of its waters has historically accompanied all the metamorphoses of the surrounding urban and rural space. Walking along the banks of the river, the author immortalizes—thanks in part to his skillful use of flash—natural, biological, and architectural elements, accompanying the viewer on a timeless journey from day to night that recalls the different realities still present in the area through cultural references linked to the city’s productive history.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Tancredi Milone Civic Library, with a talk by the two photographers together with curator Giangavino Pazzola.
