Toni Thorimbert. Donne in vista

Project Room | 9 April – 2 June 2026

As part of EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival, from April 9 to June 2 the Project Room hosts the exhibition Toni Thorimbert. Donne in vista.

The project, conceived by Luca Beatrice, is a tribute by Toni Thorimbert and Walter Guadagnini to their friend and art critic, who passed away prematurely last year.

The exhibition brings together around sixty photographs selected from Thorimbert’s archive, all focused on the female figure. Taken over more than thirty years of activity, the images portray both well-known personalities and anonymous subjects, highlighting the photographer’s ability to move across different registers: from formal portraiture to more intimate images, from the aesthetics of fashion photography to works produced outside commissioned contexts.

The exhibition unfolds as a journey through photography and the representation of women. The title Donne in vista (Women in View) refers both to the presence of public figures—including Victoria Abril, Francesca Neri, Natalia Ginzburg, Inge Feltrinelli, Ornella Vanoni, Eleonora Giorgi, Nancy Brilli and Monica Bellucciand to the photographer’s intention to place the female face and body at the center of the image.

At the heart of the exhibition are two photographs: portraits of the photographer’s mother and daughter. These images encapsulate the meaning of the project, suggesting photography as a space where personal experience and the search for beauty converge, regardless of context or subject.
