‘torino: fotografia’ makes its international debut at Paris Photo | 12–15 November 2026

From 11 to 15 November, torino: fotografia will make its debut at Paris Photo, the leading international fair dedicated to the visual arts, with a special project celebrating 100 years of the photo booth through live artistic performances.

The initiative, organised by CAMERA Torino, Intesa Sanpaolo with Gallerie d’Italia – Torino and EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival, will be accompanied by the launch of the festival’s fourth edition, scheduled for Saturday 14 November at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris.

Paris Photo: the stand

Invented in 1925 and introduced in New York in 1926, before arriving in Paris in 1928, the photo booth was originally designed as a tool for producing passport photographs, but was soon adopted by artists as a medium for creative experimentation. The four images that make up a strip thus become a narrative; the sequence of shots creates rhythm, and the dialogue between juxtaposed images opens up new expressive possibilities.

To celebrate this important anniversary, the torino: fotografia stand will be transformed into an artistic production space dedicated to the expressive potential of this iconic camera. Throughout the fair, leading figures from the international scene will be invited to use a vintage analogue photo booth, provided by Autofoto, to create works live, which will be immediately displayed on the walls of the stand.

EXPOSED makes its debut in Paris

On Saturday 14 November at 12.00, the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris will host the presentation of EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival 2027. The event will offer a preview of the festival’s fourth edition and its future prospects, confirming photography’s central role in Turin’s cultural landscape and the city’s ability to engage with the international art scene.

With this first participation at Paris Photo, torino: fotografia brings to the international stage the network of institutions, professionals and projects that have helped make Turin a key centre for contemporary visual culture, strengthening the dialogue between the city and the global photographic community.
